Drunk man lying outside Orchard Towers looks like scene from The Matrix, says Stomper

It is not unusual to find inebriated individuals hanging around the notorious Orchard Towers.

Stomper Nit Ray came across a man, who appeared to be drunk, lying on some steps outside the building recently.

The man's position amused the Stomper who captioned his photo: "The Matrix Reloaded: Orchard Towers edition."

He said: "The sleeping position resembles the scene in the classic The Matrix movies where the actors bend backwards to avoid bullets."

However, sights like these may soon become a rarity.

Orchard Towers houses several nightlife establishments but in July 2022, the police informed business operators and property owners that they would not renew public entertainment licences for outlets at Orchard Towers beyond May 31, 2023.

The deadline was extended to end-July, to facilitate the nightlife outlets' transition to alternative arrangements.
