Driver trapped after taxi gets wedged between container lorry and kerb in Kaki Bukit

A taxi passenger was taken to hospital after an accident involving the taxi and a container lorry at Barley Road East in Kaki Bukit on Friday (Oct 7).

Videos circulating online show the taxi wedged between the kerb of a slip road and the lorry.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that they were alerted to the accident at about 1.40pm.

"A person was found trapped in the driver's seat of a car. SCDF rescued the person using hydraulic rescue equipment. This person was assessed for minor injuries and subsequently refused conveyance to the hospital," said SCDF.

"SCDF conveyed another person to Changi General Hospital."

When contacted by Stomp, police said they were alerted at 1.35pm to an accident involving a trailer and taxi along Bartley Road East towards Tampines Avenue 10 slip road into Kaki Bukit Avenue 4.

"A 20-year-old male passenger was conveyed conscious to the hospital," said police.

Police investigations are ongoing.
