Driver suffers spinal injuries after crashing into lamp post along Lorong 7 Toa Payoh

A driver who swerved to avoid another car ended up crashing into a lamp post.

The accident occurred along Lorong 7 Toa Payoh towards Toa Payoh East on Jan 19.

Stomper Anonymous, who witnessed the accident at 1.15am, told Stomp that the vehicle hit the lamp post, mounting the kerb and ending up on a pathway.

Photos that he sent shows the car stuck on top of a guard rail. An ambulance was also seen at the scene of the accident.

In response to media queries, the police said that they were alerted to the incident at around 1.10am.

"The driver, a 31-year-old man, was conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital," the police said.

Stomp understands that the driver skidded and lost control when he was swerving to avoid another car in the opposite direction that was turning right.

The driver is said to have spinal injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
