Discarded items catch fire outside Woodlands Avenue 6 flat

A fire broke out outside a seventh-floor unit at Block 693D Woodlands Avenue 6 on Sunday morning (Aug 11).

Responding to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at 8.19am.

Stomper Christopher contributed photos and videos that show bright orange flames and thick black smoke at the block.

Another Stomper also shared a photo of workers outside the flat, which his father had taken when passing by the scene.

The fire, which involved discarded items outside a flat, was extinguished by the SCDF using a 38mm water jet and two compressed air foam backpacks.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
