Deliveroo rider on e-scooter knocked down by car at Bukit Batok West junction

A Deliveroo rider on an e-scooter was knocked down by a car at a junction in Bukit Batok West Avenue 5 on Sep 26 at 10.50am.

Stomper Jayden, a class one driver with physical disability, alerted Stomp to SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page with a video of the incident. 

Jayden shared his thoughts and said: "When I watched closely the driver waited for a while before starting to drive again. The e-scooter dashed out of nowhere.

"I sent the video because I feel like both the driver and the e-scooter rider were equally at fault."

He feels that sometimes these situations are unfair because the driver has to bear a bigger chunk of liability.

"In my neighbourhood there are not many e-scooters, however in other areas there are many more appearing and there have been many incidents like the one in the video.

"The fallen e-scooter rider looks like a young student earning an income, and for that I wish him quick and full recovery," he added.
