A man sparked concern among passers-by after he was seen looking confused and sitting on the ground at Nex shopping mall on Sunday (Jan 9).

Stomper Riz witnessed the incident at around 6.55pm.

Riz, who shared a video with Stomp, recounted: "The man seemed motionless at first. I approached him and called the ambulance.

"With the guide of the ambulance call centre, I checked the man's breathing and he woke up in a state of confusion. I told him to wait until the ambulance arrived.

In the video, several members of the public can be seen trying to help the man. However, he appeared unresponsive and continued sitting on the ground with his head bent down.

Riz added: "After that, the ambulance crew arrived and checked on him."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance at 23 Serangoon Central and assessed a person who subsequently refused conveyance to the hospital.
