Daiso Singapore recalls H&H Tiramisu Twist cookies due to presence of undeclared allergens

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has directed Daiso Singapore to recall H&H Tiramisu Twist cookies due to the presence of undeclared allergens.

The agency said on Wednesday (Nov 2) that it was informed by Daiso Singapore that the cookies imported from Malaysia contained allergens - egg, hazelnut, and almonds - that were not declared on the English food packaging label.

The affected products have expiry dates of June 2023, July 2023 and October 2023.

Daiso had earlier voluntarily recalled the implicated products and the recall has been completed.

Under the Singapore Food Regulations, food and ingredients that are known to cause hypersensitivity are required to be declared on the food packaging label.

Allergens in food can result in allergic reaction in individuals who are sensitive to it," SFA said.

Consumers who are allergic to eggs, hazelnuts, or almonds and who have purchased the affected product should not consume it, the agency said.

Those who have consumed the products and are unwell should seek medical attention, it added.

Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiries.
