Stomper Teo came across a cracked wall on the ground floor of Block 607, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 on Sunday (July 23) at around 7pm.

Alarmed that the sight, he took some photos and sent them to Stomp.

From photos taken, deep cracks could be seen on the wall, and steel beams were exposed.

Some parts of the wall had been patched with cement.

Teo later informed Stomp that contractors had already started repairing the wall on Monday (July 24) at around 5.06pm.

In response to Stomp’s queries, a spokesman for Ang Mo Kio Town Council said:

“During our routine inspection, we detected the cracks on the wall, carried out investigation and found out that the rusty reinforced steel bars were the cause of the crack on the wall.

“Our term contractor was deployed immediately to treat the corroded steel bars and they are now reinstating the wall.

“The reinstatement works, including re-painting of the wall will be completed by 28 Jul 2017.

“We have reminded our contractors to put up notices to keep residents informed of on-going maintenance works.”
