Stomper KaipKaip was concerned after coming across a large group of students at a bus stop along Aljunied Road on Thursday afternoon (April 26).

He quickly took some photos of the precarious situation, which he subsequently sent to Stomp.

In the photos, the bus stop is filled to the brim with students waiting for buses, with many students standing on its edge.

KaipKaip told Stomp that he was worried about that an accidental push or nudge could send a student falling over the edge and onto the road.

Moreover, he argued, there has been a recent spate of accidents in Singapore.

He said:

“The bus stop was packed to the edges, and it looked like all the students standing on the edge were just a small shove away from becoming pancakes on the floor.

"It's an accident waiting to happen.

“The students looked happy to be out of school and in their high spirits any one of their friends could just accidentally nudge a friend onto the road and they would be run over in an instant.

“I think it makes sense for a barrier or something along those lines to be installed at bus stops like this.

“I'd suggest a road safety monitor but they might get pushed over too.”

Just a week ago on Monday (April 23), a lorry ploughed through three pedestrians near Yio Chu Kang MRT Station, near a bus stop.

All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
