A man was caught on camera riding his personal mobility device (PMD) across multiple lanes of a busy road despite oncoming traffic last Friday (Jan 17).

Stomper Furiousboy captured a video of the incident that occurred along Sims Avenue at around 6.15pm.

Furiousboy told Stomp: "This PMD rider was caught going across seven lanes along Sims Avenue and Sims Avenue East.

"He then went up to the pavement and continued riding.

"I am generally annoyed at these reckless PMD users because their behaviour is unsafe and can cause a lot of injuries. I wish there was stronger enforcement against them."

Under the Active Mobility Act, PMDs are only allowed on cycling and shared paths.

Offenders, if convicted, can be fined up to $2,000 and/or jailed for up to three months.
