An oil spill occurred along the Seletar Expressway (SLE), towards the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) after Woodlands Avenue 2 exit, this morning (July 8) at around 7.18am.

The oil spill was caused by an accident involving one trailer and two motorcycles, said a Police spokesman in response to Stomp queries.

As a result of the oil spill, several accidents -- involving nine motorcycles, four motorcars and one lorry -- occurred near the aforementioned location.

A total of twelve casualties were conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

The 34-year old trailer driver is currently assisting in police investigations.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they received calls at about 7.20am, reporting that a number of accidents had occurred along the said location.

Two fire engines and eight ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

Videos showing the aftermath of the incident have been circulating on WhatsApp.
