Cold Storage recalls Cantorel cheese product due to possible presence of bacteria

A cheese product has been recalled due to the possible presence of a bacteria that can cause foodborne illness, symptoms of which include fever, abdominal cramps and diarrhoea.

Cantorel's Plateau 5 Fromages is a cheese product from France and imported by Cold Storage.

The European Commission Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) had issued a notification on the recall of the product due to the possible presence of listeria monocytogenes, said the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).

SFA has since directed the supermarket chain to recall the implicated product.

"The affected batch of products have since been removed from retail shelves and are no longer in the market," SFA added.

Consumers who have purchased the implicated product are advised not to consume it. Those who have consumed the implicated product and have concerns about their health should seek medical advice.

For enquiries, consumers may contact Cold Storage at 1800-8918-100.
