Clarke Quay club riot: 2 men arrested

Two men, aged 29 and 34, were arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting in a club at Clarke Quay on Jan 27.

The police said in a statement that they were alerted to a case of rioting at 3A River Valley Road at about 3.10am.

Officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identities of the two men and arrested them on Jan 30.

If convicted of rioting, the men may be jailed for up to seven years and caned.

Stomp reported last week that a 31-year-old man was taken to hospital after the riot broke out.

Several Stompers alerted Stomp to a video circulating online of the incident that happened at Club Illusion.

In the video, several people are seen shouting, shoving and throwing punches at one another.

Items including a stool, glasses and a drink tower are seen flying through the air.
