Car engulfed in flames on SLE

A car caught fire along the Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Monday afternoon (Jan 24).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire along the SLE towards Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), before Mandai Avenue exit, at around 4.15pm.

The fire involved the engine compartment of a car and was extinguished using a water jet, an SCDF spokesman told Stomp.

There were no reported injuries.

Several Stompers shared photos and videos showing the car in flames on the expressway, as well as the charred aftermath.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
