Car crashes into shrubs along roadside after accident with taxi on Orchard Rd

Stomper Gowrie witnessed an accident involving a blue car and an SMRT cab along Orchard Road, in front of Far East Shopping Centre, today (Aug 15) at around 10.18am. 

She took a video of the incident and forwarded it to Stomp.

In the video, the car could be seen tilted at an angle, having crashed into bushes along the road side. 

An SMRT cab was parked in front of it.

Police officers and an ambulance were also present.

According to Gowrie, no one was hurt in the accident.

Said Gowrie:

“I don’t know what happened.

“It was raining, so the road could have been slippery.”

The police have issued an official statement on the accident:

“On Aug 15, 2017, the police were alerted to an accident involving a car and a taxi along Orchard Road towards Bras Basah Road, after Angullia Park.

"A 34-year-old female car driver was conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. 

"Police investigations are ongoing."
