Car catches fire while queueing at Woodlands Checkpoint

A car caught fire while queueing to enter Malaysia via Woodlands Checkpoint on Wednesday morning (Dec 21).

Stomper Patrick alerted Stomp to the incident and said the car caught fire just before reaching the immigration counter.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the fire at 21 Woodlands Checkpoint at 7.10am.

"The fire involved the engine compartment of a car," an SCDF spokesman said.

"SCDF extinguished the fire using a compressed air foam backpack and a hose reel."

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
