A car caught fire at a multi-storey carpark at Block 792A Woodlands Avenue 6 on Wednesday night (Mar 23).

Stomper Mohan was cycling past the carpark at around 8.15pm when he heard a loud explosion from the third floor.

Mohan, who shared a video of the blaze, said: "I saw a big fire engulf one of the vehicles. There were heavy flames and lots of smoke.

"The alarm continued to ring and two police cars arrived at the scene. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived on time too. Kudos to all first responders."

In response to a Stomp query, SCDF said it was alerted to a fire involving a parked car at around 8.20pm.

SCDF extinguished the fire using two dry powder extinguishers and a compressed air foam backpack.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
