Car bursts into flames on CTE

A car burst into flames along the Central Expressway (CTE) towards the Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Sunday night (Sep 5).

Stompers David and Becki alerted Stomp to the incident and shared videos of the vehicle fire.

Firefighters from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were at the scene extinguishing the flames.

In response to a Stomp query, the SCDF said they were alerted to the fire before the Yio Chu Kang exit at about 9.30pm.

"The fire involved a vehicle," an SCDF spokesman said.

"SCDF extinguished the fire using a water jet."

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
