Despite some people hoarding and overcharging for face masks during the spread of the coronavirus that started in Wuhan, many Singaporeans are embodying the kampung spirit.

Stomper Wendy was grateful to a couple of people giving out free masks at Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station on Tuesday morning (Feb 4).

"There are still angels out there in life," she said.

"This is a great help for those who have sensitive noses at this crucial time."

She said she saw two guys giving out the masks near Mr Bean in the station during the morning rush hour.

Similarly, Stomper Jasman shared with Stomp the kindness of a resident at Block 161 Punggol Central who left surgical face masks in the lifts for others to use.

The resident, named Yuki, wrote in a note: "Sharing is caring."

The kind neighbour also encouraged other residents to take one if they need it.

Previously, Stomp reported on other Punggol residents leaving free masks, hand sanitisers and more at Block 267B Punggol Field.

Stompers also alerted Stomp to everyday heroes giving out masks at a money changer and on online marketplace Carousell.
