Cabby "taken to task" after making dangerous u-turn at Lornie Road: ComfortDelGro

A ComfortDelGro taxi, with the licence plate number SHA7359U, was spotted making a dangerous u-turn along Lornie Road on May 18 at 6.05pm.

A video posted on SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page showed the taxi turning out abruptly, its bonnet almost coming into contact with oncoming traffic.

The post read: "By making a dangerous U-turn along Lornie Road, this taxi (SHA7359U) not only puts itself at risk but also all the other vehicles that had to e-brake!"

A photo accompanying the post also showed a road sign stating that u-turns there are illegal from Monday to Friday 5pm to 8:30pm (except on public holidays).

"There were not only one but two road signs indicating it. One before the U-turn, and another by the U-turn point in case you missed the first one," added the post.

"But this taxi driver still did it anyway."

The user who originally submitted the post has also reported the incident to ComfortDelGro.

In a response to a Stomp query, Ms Tammy Tan, Group Corporate Communications Officer of ComfortDelGro Corporation Limited, said: "We have investigated the matter and would like to apologise for our cabby's behaviour.

"The cabby has also been taken to task for making the illegal U-turn."
