A python was rescued after it was stuck inside a pipe near Concorde Hotel Singapore at Orchard Road on Monday morning (Feb 24).

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a video of a man freeing the snake from the pipe at about 7am.

Stomp understands the man works for the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres).

In the video, several people gather around the rescue worker as he works to free the python and get it into a sack.

In the background, a woman is heard exclaiming as the python slithers out of the pipe.

People are then heard commending the Acres worker for doing a good job and calling him an "expert".

A woman is heard offering him coffee but he declines and leaves with the snake and his tools as people thank him for his help.

Snakes are part of our biodiversity, and members of the public are advised to keep a safe distance and avoid provoking them.
