Bus rear-ends car along Keng Lee Road: Car driver and passenger taken to hospital

A car driver and his passenger were taken to hospital after their car was rear-ended by a bus along Keng Lee Road towards Bukit Timah Road on Saturday afternoon (May 13).

Footage from the car's rear camera was posted on Facebook and showed the bus failing to slow down or stop and crashing into the car.

The car ended up mounting a kerb.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 1.45pm.

"A 43-year-old male car driver and his 44-year-old female passenger were conveyed conscious to the hospital," a police spokesman said.

"A 39-year-old male bus driver is assisting with investigations."

Police investigations are ongoing.

Responding to a query from Stomp, SBS Transit’s vice-president (special grade) of customer experience and communications Grace Wu said: "We are in touch with the car driver and his passenger who were conveyed to hospital where they both received outpatient treatment.

"We wish them a speedy recovery.

"Meanwhile, we are looking into the cause of the incident."
