A 41-year-old bus driver was taken to hospital after an accident along Jalan Sultan on Wednesday evening (Oct 3).

Stomper David said he was walking past the scene, near Hotel Boss, at around 8pm, when he saw the bus mounted on the road divider.

Stomp understands that the bus driver is believed to have suffered fits while on the road, hence leading to the accident.

Passengers on the bus were unhurt.

David told Stomp: "The bus had also damaged a lamppost.

"The bus was empty and I didn't see the driver or any passengers around. There were Traffic Police and an ambulance at the scene.

"When I returned at around 9pm, there was a tow truck taking the bus away."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 7.02pm.

"A 41-year-old man was conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital," they added.

Police investigations are ongoing.
