An SBS Transit bus captain has been taking off driving duties after hitting a column at the bus park of Yishun Integrated Transport Hub and damaging a ventilation duct.

No one was injured.

Stomper Gogo was on a bus when he witnessed the incident at the interchange on Sep 22, at around 5.40am.

Gogo, who sent photos of the incident, said: "I saw the ventilation duct come crashing down. It smashed the windscreen of a bus that had no passengers on board.

"I left in my bus afterwards."

Ms Tammy Tan, senior vice president of corporate communications at SBS Transit, told Stomp in response to queries: "One of our buses hit a column at the bus park of the interchange and damaged a ventilation duct.

"Thankfully no one was injured.

"The bus captain in question has since been taken off driving duties pending a full investigation into the incident."
