Bukit Batok underwear theft: Police recover 114 female undergarments from suspect's home

A 63-year-old man who is suspected to be involved in a series of thefts of undergarments in the Bukit Batok estate was charged in court yesterday (Feb 28).

Following the suspect's arrest at Lot One shopping mall in Choa Chu Kang on Monday (Feb 26), the police searched his home, where they found 114 pieces of female undergarments.

It was earlier reported that the man had stolen at least 50 pieces of underwear -- including a new brassiere worth $200 -- from a single household at Block 106 in three months.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, the man is a part-time employee who lives in a condominium at Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3.

When the police found his loot of 114 female undergarments, the man apparently denied stealing them.

He insisted that he stole only bra straps and not the bras themselves.
