Body of man found at sea near Bedok Jetty

The body of a man was found at sea near Bedok Jetty at East Coast Park in the early hours of Wednesday (Dec 12).

Stomper WL alerted Stomp to the incident after he saw police officers at the jetty with searchlights shining over the water when he was jogging at East Coast Park at about 3am.

He did not have a camera or phone with him at the time and could not take any photos.

"Some boys fishing at the jetty told me that an old man had jumped into the sea," he said.

In response to a Stomp media query, the police said they received a call for assistance at about 12.47am.

"The body of a man was retrieved from the sea near Bedok Jetty," a spokesman said.

He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

The police are investigating the unnatural death.
