Body of 80-year-old man found floating in Kallang River

The body of a 80-year-old man was found floating in the waters of Kallang River on Saturday morning (July 3).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at Block 63 Kallang Bahru at 8.40am.

They added: "The body of a 80-year-old man was found floating in the waters and was retrieved by the Singapore Civil Defence Force."

"He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic."

Stomper Y shared videos showing a police tent and police officers at the scene.

Based on preliminary investigations, no foul play is suspected.

Police investigations are ongoing.
