BMW driver arrested for dangerous driving after police chase from PIE to Jurong East

A 56-year-old man was arrested after leading police on a car chase from along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) to Jurong East Street 31 in the wee hours of March 1.

A video posted by SG Road Vigilante on Facebook shows a BMW speeding past other vehicles with a police car in its pursuit at around 3.30am.

The car chase eventually ended at the carpark entrance of Block 345 in Jurong East.

Responding to queries by Stomp, a police spokesman said: "A Traffic Police Expressway Patrol Unit (TP EPU) car was travelling along the PIE towards Tuas, near Toh Guan exit, when a car travelling in front of the TP EPU car suddenly sped off.

"After a brief pursuit, the Traffic Police managed to stop the car along Jurong East Street 31."

The BMW driver was subsequently arrested for dangerous driving.

Police investigations are ongoing.
