Biker, pillion rider hit van and fall after motorcyclist inches dangerously close to them on AYE

A biker and pillion rider hit a van after a motorcyclist inched dangerously close to them on the Ayer Rajar Expressway.

According to the timestamp on a video of what happened posted on Beh Chia Lor - Singapore Road, the accident took place at 6.35am on Sep 11.

In the video, the biker and pillion rider can first be seen on the second lane of the three-lane road.

The motorcyclist, who was on the right-most lane, then manoeuvred his vehicle into the second lane.

He went closer to the biker and pillion rider as the video progressed.

At one point, both motorcycles were side by side, centimetres apart.

At the 22-second mark of the video, the biker and pillion rider became sandwiched between the motorcycle and a van that was on the left-most lane.

The biker then hit the van and lost control of the vehicle.

He, as well as his pillion rider, fell onto the road following contact.

The motorcyclist who rode towards them recklessly then left the scene thereafter.
