Baggage handler allegedly swopped tags on hundreds of bags at Changi Airport

A 63-year-old baggage handler was charged in court on Tuesday (Sep 19) for allegedly swopping the tags on hundreds of bags, sending the luggage to incorrect destinations.

Tay Boon Keh, who worked for industrial equipment supplier Lian Chen Contracting, was charged with 286 counts of mischief, reports The Straits Times.

It is believed that he started his crime spree on Nov 8, 2016 when he swopped the baggage tag of a Penang-bound piece of luggage with another bag.

He subsequently swopped around baggage tags almost every day for three months until February this year.
