Despite reports of people giving healthcare workers a wide berth amidst the spread of the coronavirus from Wuhan, there have also been many kind souls doing their part to make sure these workers are being appreciated for working tirelessly during this difficult time.

On Valentine's Day this year (Feb 14), pre-school students gifted staff at a Jurong West clinic with heartfelt cards of appreciation.

Stomper Drew shared with Stomp photos of some of the cards JW Corporation Clinic received from children from PCF Sparkletots Preschool at Jurong Spring.

His wife works at the clinic and was incredibly touched by the kind gesture.

"They were appreciated and received little handmade appreciation cards drawn by children," he said.

"Kudos to the teachers!

"Little things like this make jobs in the healthcare industry worthwhile during this difficult period."

Drew added that MP Desmond Lee of Jurong GRC also paid a visit to the clinic to give out masks and Redoxon, a supplement for immunity.

"Mr Lee was handing out masks and essentials to clinics in Jurong West that day and gave thanks to the clinic's doctors and staff who are front-liners as well," he said.

"He also reached out to cleaners in the market, to thank them for their efforts.

"I'm just glad that all these people are being recognised for their efforts and courage.

"Not just them, but there are many who are being ostracised for doing their job tirelessly just so everyone else can still carry on with our normal daily routines and lives."
