Auntie rides PMA amidst busy traffic along Sengkang East Road

Busy traffic in Sengkang did not deter a woman from riding her personal mobility aid (PMA) on the road.

A video of the incident along Sengkang East Road was uploaded online by Facebook user Edwin Fong on Monday (April 18). The 26-second clip has since garnered over 28,000 views and 140 shares.

Fong called the woman's behaviour "so dangerous" and urged authorities to look into the matter.

However, several netizens felt that the woman was not entirely to blame. They pointed out that construction works along the footpath had made it too narrow for her to pass, leaving her with no choice but to ride on the road.

Under the Active Mobility Act, PMAs are not allowed on the road.

Offenders may face a fine of up to $2,000 and/or up to three months in jail.
