Arrested: CCK condo security guard found lying on top of maid after breaking into unit

A 32-year-old security guard at a Choa Chu Kang executive condominium (EC) was arrested after breaking into a unit and threatening a maid living there on Sunday morning.

The man had sneaked into the unit via a window, Chinese-language daily Lianhe Wanbao reported.

An elderly resident of the unit decided to investigate her grandchildren's room, where her maid also sleeps, after hearing movement in her home.

It was then she found the man lying on top of her maid, with her clothes cut open and crying out for help.

She said that the man was threatening the woman with a pair of scissors.

The intruder then ran and escaped through the front door as the elderly woman tried to get assistance from her neighbours.

The police told Stomp that they were alerted to a case of aggravated outrage of modesty at 365 Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3 at about 5.37am.

A 32-year-old man was subsequently arrested in relation to the case.

The Straits Times understands the man is Singaporean.

According to Wanbao, the arrest took six hours and police were seen escorting the suspect from the premises at about 11.40am.

The police told Stomp that officers from the Jurong Police Division and Special Operations Command conducted a search and subsequently arrested him at the EC's carpark of the residential
unit at about 11.40am.

Stomp understands that he had been hiding there.  

A Wanbao reader provided a photo of the suspect seen without a shirt.

Stompers PaddyRichard, Yue Ling and Joana shared photos and videos forwarded from a residents' group chat of the officers searching the area.

According to Shin Min Daily News, there were about 50 officers and 18 police vehicles at the scene.

Police investigations are ongoing.
