A Malaysian registered Proton Wira JPQ9721 beat a red light and collided with Stomper Lionel’s vehicle at the Johor Bahru Customs on Sunday (July 30) at around 11.45pm.

While Lionel was waiting for the lights to turn green at a traffic junction close to the customs, the driver of the Proton Wira sped from the inner lane, crashing against the front bumper of Lionel’s vehicle on the left.

Lionel slammed on his brakes immediately after the collision, but the car drove on, beating the red lights, and stopped a short distance away.

The driver alighted, surveyed the damage to his car, before driving off again.

Fortunately, a motorcyclist who was at the back of Lionel’s car during the incident remembered the driver’s licence plate number and gave it to Lionel.

After returning to Singapore, he filed a report at Choa Chu Kang Neighbourhood Police Centre yesterday (July 31).

Lionel also took photos of the damages on his car and sent them to Stomp.

In the photos, the front bumper, left headlight, mudguards and licence plate of the vehicle appeared to have been damaged.

Lionel hopes that witnesses or anyone with footage of the accident will be able to assist him.

Said Lionel:

“Your help is very much appreciated.

“Thank you.”
