Alligator in China finds its way into day care centre after escaping from apartment

A neighbourhood day care centre in Nanning, China, was visited by an unexpected guest.

According to Shanghaiist, a metre-long pet alligator found its way out of its owner's apartment, and was found near the centre's premises.

Thankfully however, the reptile did not harm anyone.

The police were notified, and police officers then arrived to subdue the alligator.

Instead of returning it to its owners, the animal was sent to a zoo.

It is unclear why the alligator was kept as a pet. That being said, we would recommend its previous owners to stick to cats and dogs following the bizarre incident.
