Accident involving bus and two cars along AYE causes massive jam

An accident involving a bus and two cars along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) resulted in a massive jam on Friday morning (May 8).

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a video he took as he was passing by the scene.

Recovery vehicles are seen on both sides of the expressway as traffic is seen inching forward.

An SBS Transit bus and badly damaged car are seen on the left side while another car is spotted on the far right.

At 9.12am, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) tweeted that there was traffic congestion from before the Portsdown Avenue exit until the Clementi Road exit.

Motorists were also advised to avoid the first and fourth lanes.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 7.37am.

No injuries were reported and police investigations are ongoing.
