9 women arrested for vice-related activities in hotel raid along Orchard Road

Nine women, aged between 19 and 36, were arrested on Monday (Aug 27) for their suspected involvement in vice-related activities and offences under the Immigration Act.

The women were arrested by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and Tanglin Police Division, during enforcement operations that were targeted at vice activities in a hotel along Orchard Road.

Landlords and hotel owners are warned not to allow vice activities inside their premises.

Unlicensed brothel operators can be given a maximum fine of S$10,000 and/or up to five years' imprisonment.

Any person who knowingly lives wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person can be jailed up to five years and fined up to S$10,000.
