87 arrested after five-day raid in Geylang on suspicion of selling illegal sex drugs and more

Police have arrested 87 people after a five-day operation in Geylang.

A total of 54 men and 33 women, aged between 20 and 56, were nabbed after the authorities raided hotels, streets and private residences, the police said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 4).

They are being held on suspicion of vice, public gaming and drug offences, sale of illegal sexual enhancement products, and peddling of contraband cigarettes. Investigations are ongoing.

The operation, which ended in the wee hours of Saturday morning, was led by Bedok Police Division.

It also involved enforcement officers from other agencies, such as the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority, Central Narcotics Bureau, and Health Sciences Authority.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Alvin Moh, who commands Bedok Police Division, commended officers for their teamwork.
