An elderly man and an elderly woman were taken to hospital after a chain collision involving five vehicles along the Central Expressway (CTE) last Thursday (Nov 19).

The police were alerted to an accident involving three cars, one van and one tipper truck along the CTE towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) at 1.49pm, they said in response to queries.

They told Stomp: "A 80-year-old female and a 85-year-old male passenger were conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital."

Several Stompers shared a circulated video of the accident scene.

Just a day later, another chain collision occurred along the CTE towards the AYE. The accident involved five cars and a lorry.

Two male drivers, aged 56 and 64, were injured. The younger man was unconscious when taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Police are investigating both incidents.
