84-year-old pedestrian dies after being hit by car at Chua Chu Kang

An 84-year-old woman was allegedly hit by a car at Chua Chu Kang Avenue 1 on Thursday afternoon (Sep 21) and later succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

In response to media queries by Stomp, the police said they were alerted to an accident involving a car and a pedestrian along the carpark driveway of Block 807B at 4.18pm.

The car had been about to turn left when it hit the woman.

According to Shin Min Daily News, passers-by tried to help the victim, who was bleeding from the nose.

The woman was unconscious when conveyed to the National University Hospital (NUH) with injuries to the head. She subsequently died of her injuries.

The 40-year-old male car driver is currently assisting with police investigations.
