82-year-old man arrested in relation to murder of 79-year-old woman in Toa Payoh

An 82-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a murder of a 79-year-old woman in Toa Payoh.

The police received a call requesting for assistance at Block 191 Lorong 4 Toa Payoh at about 3.40am on Sunday (Sep 1). 

Upon arrival, a 79-year-old woman was found lying motionless at the said location and pronounced dead at the scene. 

The police have classified the case as murder. 

The suspect, an 82-year-old man, has been arrested in relation to the case. 

Preliminary investigations revealed that both the victim and the suspect are known to each other.  

The man will be charged in court on Monday (Sep 2). 

Police investigations are ongoing.
