8 teens arrested for rioting with dangerous weapon after 14-year-old is allegedly attacked

Seven male teenagers and one female teenager, aged between 16 and 20, have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting with dangerous weapon.

The police said they were alerted to a fight involving weapons along Eunos Crescent on Tuesday (Nov 10), at around 3.40pm.

Upon the police’s arrival, a 14-year-old teenager claimed that he got injured when a group of teenagers whom he was supposed to meet, had purportedly attacked him.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs and police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the suspects and arrested them within 16 hours.

The eight suspects will be charged in court on Nov 12 for rioting with dangerous weapon.

If convicted, they face a jail term which may extend to ten years and caning.
