78-year-old man dies after accidental fall from height at Toa Payoh block

A 78-year-old man was found dead at the foot of a Housing Board (HDB) block in Toa Payoh on Wednesday morning (Oct 9).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to a case of unnatural death at Block 205 Toa Payoh North at 9.44am.

The elderly man was found lying motionless and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

Stomp understands that the man had accidentally fallen from height.

When Stomp visited the scene, police had cordoned off the area. An ambulance and a death tent were also spotted at the foot of the block.

A resident in the vicinity, who had been waiting for her child to end classes at a kindergarten at the block, told Stomp that she heard screaming and a loud thud.

Police investigations are ongoing.
