73-year-old cabby taken to hospital after crashing into canal along Whampoa Drive

A 73-year-old man was taken to hospital after crashing into a canal along Whampoa Drive on Wednesday morning (June 10).

The police were alerted to the accident at 10.06am, they told Stomp in response to queries.

The elderly taxi driver was conscious when conveyed to Raffles Hospital.

Several Stompers shared videos and photos of the accident scene that have been circulating online, showing how the Trans-Cab taxi had crashed through a railing and into the canal.

An ambulance can also be spotted at the scene.

Police investigations are ongoing.
