71-year-old woman stands on window ledge at Jurong West HDB block

A 71-year-old woman was apprehended after being seen standing on a window ledge at Block 662B Jurong West Street 64 on Saturday afternoon (Apr 2).

In response to queries by Stomp, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they received a call for assistance at around 2.50pm.

When police officers arrived, the elderly woman was seen standing on a window ledge of the block.

Photos and videos submitted by Stomper Marcus show the heart-stopping scene.

The woman was subsequently brought to safety and apprehended under Section 7(1) of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008, added the police.

The SCDF told Stomp that it conveyed one person to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
