The police are investigating an incident where a 71-year-old man was allegedly assaulted at Block 297A Compassvale Street on Monday afternoon (Dec 12).

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and said the elderly man was kicked multiple times in the chest and stomach at a badminton court by two assailants.

"I am one of the members of the public who intervened to stop the assault," the Stomper said.

"We were subsequently threatened and harassed by the assailant to delete any photos we might have of them carrying out the assault."

The Stomper added that the man is suffering from chest pains following the "unprovoked attack".

He is also appealing for anyone else who may have witnessed the incident to provide information to the police.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to a case of assault at 5.20pm.

"A 71-year-old man sustained minor injuries but refused conveyance to the hospital," a police spokesman said.

Police investigations are ongoing.
