7 youths arrested for rioting after assaulting 27-year-old man in Woodlands

Seven men, aged between 17 and 21, were arrested on May 22 for rioting after allegedly assaulting a man at Block 604 Woodlands Drive 42.

The police said they had received several reports about the incident on May 17, at around 12.08am.

When police arrived at the scene, the group had already fled.

The 27-year-old victim was conscious when taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Through ground enquiries and follow-up investigations, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the men's identities and apprehended them.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Anyone convicted for the offence of rioting is liable to a jail term of up to seven years and caning.
