68-year-old man found lying motionless at Upper Thomson Road, police investigating unnatural death

Police are investigating a case of unnatural death after a 68-year-old man, Mr Wu, was found lying motionless at 255 Upper Thomson Road on Sunday (Aug 25).

Responding to a Stomp query, the police said: "On Aug 25 at 7.20am, the police received a call for assistance at 255 Upper Thomson Road.

"A 68-year-old man was found lying motionless inside the building and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. Police are investigating the unnatural death."

According to Lianhe Wanbao, Mr Wu's housemate noticed him lying at a dormitory's staircase and alerted the police.

Wanbao had also reported that the deceased resides in a second-floor unit at the dormitory, where most of the residents are staff members at a neighbouring chicken rice shop.

One of the staff, 44-year-old Mr Zhang, said: "One of my colleagues saw him lying at the staircase this morning (Aug 25). He went over to call him but noticed that he wasn't waking up. Moreover, his entire body was stiff, believe that he has been dead for a while."

Mr Zhang also revealed that Mr Wu does not work at the chicken rice shop. Mr Wu had changed jobs several times and has been unemployed in recent months. He also goes out for drinks every night.
