67-year-old woman dies after getting hit by car outside International Plaza

A 67-year-old woman died in hospital after getting hit by a car in Tanjong Pagar on Friday morning (Apr 28).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to an accident involving a car and a pedestrian along Anson Road towards Robinson Road at about 9.15am.

The pedestrian was unconscious when taken to hospital, where she subsequently died.

Facebook page Beh Chia Lor - Singapore Road posted a video showing how the accident occurred outside International Plaza.

The post said that the pedestrian had been jaywalking and "most likely the driver could not notice the elderly woman due to (the) curved road."

In the video, passers-by can be seen rushing to the woman's aid after she is knocked down by the car.

Police investigations are ongoing.
