66-year-old pedestrian dies after getting hit by car in Bukit Batok, 29-year-old female driver arrested

A 66-year-old pedestrian died in hospital after she was hit by a car at the junction of Bukit Batok East Avenue 6 and Bukit Batok Street 21 on Thursday morning (Jan 10).

Stomp understands that she was crossing the road when the accident occurred.

She suffered head injuries and was unconscious when taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, where she subsequently died.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 10.47am.

The driver, a 29-year-old woman, was arrested for causing death by a negligent act.

A photo posted on Facebook shows the victim lying on the road while a man held an umbrella over her head. A trail of blood can also be seen on the road.

Police investigations are ongoing.
